Mountain Gorillas are one of the world’s most endangered apes and it is estimated that there are only 720 (approximately) left throughout the world. Almost half of these can be found in Uganda, as well as populations in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Gorilla trekking safari is one of the most sought tour in Uganda. Of all Africa’s wildlife encounters little can match the experience that gorilla trekking gives one. Gorilla trekking is quite rightly considered, if not a life-changing experience, then at the very least a once-in-a-lifetime one. There are 4 locations for tracking gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. These are Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo, therefore your accommodation will be booked in line with the location of your gorilla permit. 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari

Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (10 hours drive)

The driver guide picks you up early in the morning for the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a stopover at Equator for photos and a cup of coffee.Continue your journey to Mbarara with another stopover at the Igongo cultural Museum and a lunch break. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is famous for its Mountain Gorilla. It has rich ecosystem comprising of 95 species of mammal and 345 species of bird. As you arrive in the evening time and checking at your lodge, rest memorizing your long waited encounter with the mountain Gorillas. Accommodation choices will be dependent on your gorilla permits availability allocation. Overnight at a hotel/ lodge of choice; Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner.

Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla trekking

Leave your lodge facilitywith your packed lunch boxes and drive/ walk to UWA briefing point ready for the Gorilla trek starting at 8:00am. This great ape is endangered and only 1,063 individuals remained in the whole world. Bwindi is a home for its ¾ world population. It takes between 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the Gorillas from the previous day trek. Remember to carry a water poof backpack bag with a rain jacket, drinking water and wear jungle boots with a rugged sole. Every moment of the Gorilla trekking is unique and amazing as you watch them playing, eating, coupling, and the youngsters swinging on the tree branches. This is a lifetime experience and incomparable with any other East African adventure. After viewing of the gorillas for 1 hour you will head back to the offices and be awarded with your certificates for having completed the Gorilla trekking activity.

If time allows and you are still energetic you may go visit the communities around the park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge of your choice. This is a community based activity meant to help them gain some income by selling crafts and passing on knowledge of how they live daily. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Kampala/Entebbe (10 hours drive)

Drive to Kampala then Entebbe airport, having a stopover in Mbarara for lunch and also at the Equator for photos as you proceed to Kampala or Entebbe for your onward evening flight back home. Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch.

The 3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Safari package includes;
